Annotate & Share Snapshots

Numerics provides an intuitive way to capture, annotate, and share your dashboard snapshots, enabling you to communicate insights and key data points effectively. Use this feature to highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) or to provide additional context to your team.

Capture a Dashboard snapshot

To take a screenshot of your entire dashboard, tap the "Share" button to open the share menu and select 'Share a snapshot'. Numerics will generate a snapshot and display the full image. Scroll through the snapshot to ensure all the desired data points have been captured.

Add Annotations

Numerics allows you to add further insights and observations by annotating important numbers on the dashboard snapshot before sharing it. You can annotate using your finger, or, if you're using an iPad, the Apple Pencil. To annotate:

1. Enter snapshot mode and scroll to the area you'd like to annotate.

2. Tap the pencil button in the bottom right corner to enter annotation mode.

3. Choose a color and highlight the numbers with your finger or Apple Pencil.

Make use of Apple Pencil capabilities (iPad users)

Numerics supports the Apple Pencil for annotations on the iPad Pro, leveraging its pressure sensitivity and tilt detection to create expressive and natural annotations. The strokes are thicker when more force is applied and thinner when you write quickly. Moreover, if you tilt the Apple Pencil to over 70 degrees, as if you are shading, the pencil turns into an Obfuscator. In this mode, the strokes become broad and thick and can be used to obscure any numbers or widgets you don’t want to share in the snapshot, much like using a white ink marker on paper to hide selective text.

Once you're satisfied with the annotations, hit the "Share" button in the top right corner to share the annotated snapshot.

FAQ

Q. I cannot see the pencil button for annotation
A. Ensure you are in snapshot mode. The pencil button for annotation appears only when viewing a dashboard snapshot.

Q. The snapshot does not capture all my data
A. Try scrolling through the snapshot. The snapshot captures the entire dashboard, but you may need to scroll to see all the data.

Q. I cannot share the snapshot
A. Check your device's settings and permissions. Numerics needs permission to access your sharing and communication apps to share snapshots.
