Freeform Calculator
A powerful tool for analyzing, combining, and visualizing your recorded metrics in customizable ways.
Calculate, combine, and visualize metrics from your freeform recorders. Create powerful data insights by aggregating multiple sources, tracking progress towards goals, and analyzing distribution patterns.
Setting Up a Calculator
Name Your Calculator:
Choose a descriptive and unique name for your calculator within your dashboard, such as "Q1 Sales Target", "Team Performance", or "Resource Distribution".
2. Choose Visualization Type:
Number View: Display your data with a large, clear numerical format that automatically handles large numbers. The view shows calculation type and timespan, while listing individual source values below for reference.
Progress View: Track progress using either a circular gauge that shows percentage completion in ring format with color-coded indicators and current value against target, or opt for a space-efficient compact progress bar that displays the percentage of target achieved in a linear format.
Distribution View: Visualize data distribution through either a donut chart featuring proportional segments with the total value in center and color-coded sections per source, or use a horizontal stacked bar that offers a compact alternative with easy source comparison.
Select Data Sources:
Add one or more recorders as input sources to combine multiple metrics for comprehensive analysis. Use tag filtering to ensure precise calculations from your source data.
4. Configure Calculations:
Basic Functions: Access essential calculations including the most recent entry (Last Value), total of all values (Sum), mean calculation across entries (Average), lowest recorded value (Minimum), and highest recorded value (Maximum).
Advanced Options: Enable custom calculations for complex formulas, set target values for progress tracking, and specify grand calculation methods when working with multiple sources.
Custom Calculations: Create custom formulas using recorder references and mathematical operations:
- Each recorder is automatically assigned a reference(e.g., s1, s2)
- Combine references using standard mathematical operators(+, -, *, /)
- Example:s1 + s2
adds values from two recorders
- Support for complex formulas like `(s1 + s2) * s3 - 150.
Define Time Range:
All Time: Complete historical data
Custom Range: Specific time period
Real-time updates as new data is recorded
6. Customize Display Settings:
Select from seven theme colors
Toggle between standard and compact views
Enable/disable source value display
Set up change notifications
