Setting Up Notifications for KPIs in Numerics

Numerics offers a robust notification system that keeps you informed about KPI changes as they occur. This step-by-step guide will walk you through setting up and managing notifications on your iPhone, iPad, MacOS, or Apple Watch, allowing you to make data-driven decisions quickly and effectively.

Adding a Notification

  1. Enable Notifications in Device Settings

    To use notifications, first ensure they're allowed on your device. Navigate to your device's settings, select 'Notifications', and make sure 'Allow Notifications' is enabled for Numerics.

  2. Configure Notifications in Numerics

    Open Numerics and navigate to the 'edit widget' screen. This is where you'll set up the specifics for your notifications.

    • If the 'Change Notifications' switch is turned on, Numerics will alert you whenever a widget's value changes. This will occur even if the app is in the background.

    • Numerics intelligently determines when to refresh the widget based on the widget type, the service it's connected to, and the service API rate limits. If the app is in the background, it uses the background refresh API to check and update the widgets.

  3. Respond to Notifications

    After receiving a notification, you can tap it on your device's main screen to navigate to the widget detail screen.

Managing Notifications

Once you've set up notifications, you can easily manage them right from your device's Lock Screen. Here are some actions you can perform:

  • View Recent Notifications: You can see your recent notifications on the Lock Screen by picking up your iPhone or waking your iPad.

  • Open Widgets: Tap a single notification to open the corresponding widget in Numerics.

  • View All Numerics Notifications: If you have multiple notifications from Numerics, you can tap the group to view them all.

  • Manage or Clear Notifications: Swipe left over a notification to manage alerts for Numerics, or to clear the notification.

  • Preview Widgets: Touch and hold a notification to view the widget without opening Numerics.

By following these steps, you can stay on top of your key business metrics and swiftly respond to changes, all through the convenience of Numerics' notifications.
